A wellness champion provides advocacy, leadership and support for improving the health of Kaiser Permanente employees and SCPMG physicians.
Wellness champions are comprised of a cross-section of employees and physicians from across the SCAL region to represent a wide range of perspectives.

Q: How would your closest friend describe you in one word?
A: Compassionate
Q: What’s something surprising about you that your colleagues may not know?
A: I used to be a theatre actress.
Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and what would you do with it?
A: If I could have one superpower, it would be to heal physical pain. There are many people who suffer from painful illness and I would hope to ease a bit of that suffering through that superpower.
Q: What is your go-to activity when you need to recharge?
A: Walking outside. It helps me to clear my mind, take a deep breath, and think without distraction.
Q: If your wellness journey had a theme song, what would it be?
A: Unstoppable by Sia because my wellness journey has been one of resilience through unexpected barriers.
Q: What is your favorite part about being a wellness champion?
A: I get to cheer other people on as they journey towards becoming their best selves.
Q: What is your favorite way to stay active during the workday?
A: Walking during meetings.
Q: What’s your favorite memory or success story about wellness at KP?
A: Attending my first regional wellbeing ambassador event and doing a scavenger hunt around Pasadena.
Q: If you could host a dream wellness event for your service area, what would it be?
A: A wellbeing summit with panels, workshops, and fitness classes. It would be a hybrid of motivation, physical activity, and mindfulness for employees to recharge.
Q: What drives your passion for wellness?
A: I literally fought for my life so I will continue to be a fierce advocate for others finding the interplay between their wellbeing and their work.
