A wellness champion provides advocacy, leadership and support for improving the health of Kaiser Permanente employees and SCPMG physicians.
Wellness champions are comprised of a cross-section of employees and physicians from across the SCAL region to represent a wide range of perspectives.

Q: How would your closest friend describe you in one word?
A: Considerate
Q: What’s something surprising about you that your colleagues may not know?
A: I have a black belt in Karate, but this is from when I was in middle school so whether it really counts for anything is debatable.
Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and what would you do with it?
A: Teleportation – spend less time commuting and more time with friends/family creating memories.
Q: What is your go-to activity when you need to recharge?
A: Basketball – my favorite way to exercise, with options to make it social/competitive with a game of pick-up or quiet/calming with solo drills.
Q: If your wellness journey had a theme song, what would it be?
A: Lizzo – Good as Hell. This song is high energy & focused on body positivity. It never fails to put me in a good mood for my workouts and reminds me to focus on my wellness before all else.
Q: What is your favorite part about being a wellness champion?
A: Bringing energy for my peers.
Q: What is your favorite way to stay active during the workday?
A: Lunch time walks, standing desk.
Q: What’s your favorite memory or success story about wellness at KP?
A: A recent great memory is the wellness fair we held in Riverside. The turnout and the level of engagement kept the energy going non-stop.
Q: If you could host a dream wellness event for your service area, what would it be?
A: KP Olympics – Sporting tournaments, cooking competitions, and just a lot of fun and healthy engagement.
Q: What drives your passion for wellness?
A: I thrive to set an example of wellness & positivity for my young patients.
