Wellness Champion Spotlight: Dr. Dimple Bhasin

A wellness champion provides advocacy, leadership and support for improving the health of Kaiser Permanente employees and SCPMG physicians.

Wellness champions are comprised of a cross-section of employees and physicians from across the SCAL region to represent a wide range of perspectives.

Q: How would your closest friend describe you in one word?

A: Spirited

Q: What’s something surprising about you that your colleagues may not know?

A: I am a volunteer train conductor at Descanso Gardens

Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and what would you do with it?

A: Alchemy. I would use it to transform tension into calm, disconnection into presence, and fatigue into lightness.

Q: What is your go-to activity when you need to recharge?

A: Recharging means giving myself permission to pause—whether it’s with a good book, a slow walk, or simply resting in stillness. It’s how I reconnect with myself and reset my energy.

Q: If your wellness journey had a theme song, what would it be?

A: “Feeling Good” by Nina Simone

Q: What is your favorite part about being a wellness champion?

A: Creating space for others to pause, recharge and feel a little more whole in the middle of a busy day.

Q: What is your favorite way to stay active during the workday?

A: Taking short walking breaks to visit colleagues- great way to reset mentally, stretch my legs, and foster connection all while staying lightly active.

Q: What’s your favorite memory or success story about wellness at KP?

A: Guiding a meditation to open our Townhall meeting. It was powerful to feel the shift to a calmer, focused, and connected energy in the room.

Q: If you could host a dream wellness event for your service area, what would it be?

A: Wellness retreat.

Q: What drives your passion for wellness?

A: My passion is rooted in firsthand experiences—from the energizing effects of regular exercise to the grounding benefits of mindful practices and nourishing foods.
